Job Summary : This position combines the analytical expertise of a cost accountant with the process optimization skills of an industrial engineer. The successful candidate will execute complex manufacturing activities to include but not limited to cost accounting, manufacturing accounting and high-level general accounting activities. This role supports the company's financial performance by developing and maintaining cost accounting methodologies, providing detailed cost analyses, and collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The following duties are representative of the role but are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining costs in the quotation database regularly
- Document the current product cost, report on the historical cost trends, and review cost savings or increases that could impact the product's price
- Validate, track and forecast the cost associated with new and / or existing products
- Works with engineering and management on new product development projects
- Assists with developing cost targets and reviews and provides updates to actual cost performance compared to targets.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and forecasting to provide actionable insights, create accurate forecasts, and support executive-level planning and strategic recommendations.
- Perform variance analysis to forecasted results, identifying specific drivers of deviations from estimates.
- Design, develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Collate Data from various source systems and databases and prepare data for Power BI reporting and ad hoc analysis
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Collaborate with the internal sales team to provide a cost build-up for projects and special feature requests to meet customer needs.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting pricing and profitability of products or services.
- Determine root cause of costing issues and implement corrective actions as required
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for new and / or existing products
