Enterprise Risk Analytics and Governance resides in the Risk Management Group. RMG serves as an independent point for all risk related issues that affect the Bank’s strategic & business plans and its operating & financial performance. The group is responsible for the risk exposure measurement methodology, calculation, reporting and analysis. Maintain Enterprise Risk Governance framework and define appropriate policy standards/limits, procedures and metrics.
Role overview
The Risk Reporting and Governance Analyst will maintain an enterprise risk governance control environment focused on business requirements, policies, processes and standards that comply with Regulatory and operational risk guidelines of the Bank. Assist with model governance, project management, process control, risk systems support.
Job function
Maintain a risk governance control environment that is conducted within requirements, processes and standards that comply with Regulatory and operational risk guidelines of the Bank.
Establish and implement best in practice standards with respect to production reporting governance using bank approved software solutions.
Ensure establishment of Process Control: Ongoing review of all Enterprise Risk Analytics processes and design and implement solutions that align the Bank with the current operating environment and regulatory landscape i.e. solutions to problems/concerns, enhancements to current processes, development of new processes.
Development, maintenance and enhancement of Enterprise Risk Analytics department policies (Management and Board level), procedures, (Standard Operating Procedures) process maps and desktop procedures.
Enhance governance standards in the review and submission of all risk management system upgrades, inclusive of identifying and documenting business requirements, test plans, presentation and communication internally and externally, as appropriate.
Provide project management, oversight and submission of required model enhancements. Identify risks and deficiencies to ensure model enhancements are consistent with internal and external requirements.
Maintain and assist in developing work plan for Enterprise Risk Analytics and Governance to track all deliveries and projects.
Support cost center and project budgeting annually, inclusive of monthly expense processing, tracking and reforecasting.
Review and analyze all Bank risk metrics processes, desktop procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure production of reporting metrics are generated within the appropriate control environment.
Support governance officer with submission of model validations, model, and exam remediations.
Establish and implement process governing maintenance of model documentation and desktop procedures
Inventory and centralize risk reports and work with risk teams to identify efficiencies, streamline and automation including support of ongoing EUC inventory monitoring/ maintenance and quarterly attestation and biannual system permissions.
Develop and maintain inventory of audit findings, model recommendations and exam recommendations and work cross functionally to ensure timely remediation.
Coordinate and compile FHFA annual exam submission data and ad-hoc information requests.
Required skills and experience
3 years of experience in risk management, finance, accounting and data and process management.
Knowledge of general risks, controls, regulations and related best practices.
Ability to understand and manage a control framework.
Experience assessing credit and market risk processes (end-to-end) and prepare clear, concise reports describing current state of operating environment and control weaknesses.
Experience with market, funding and liquidity, credit/ collateral, operational, compliance, and/or strategic risks.
Basic understanding of risk measurement including Value at Risk, Duration of Equity, Market Value of Equity and understanding of individual risk models on a high level.
Ability to identify, document and implement appropriate controls.
Ability to independently review and identify related risks of internally developed end-user computing tools, department developed/supported applications, synthesize the corresponding risks and controls and recommend adjustments.
Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Finance, Economics, or related field. Post graduate degree a plus or equivalent work experience.
Technical skills
Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Excel expertise (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s) and experience working with complex Excel spreadsheets (including Visual Basic Macros) a plus.
SQL querying experience with the ability to design reporting using relational databases.
Working knowledge of R, Python, QlikSense, Snowflake
Proficiency in creating and maintaining business documentation i.e. “desktop” guides relating to data gathering, reports, queries and requirements.
Salary range: $125,000 - $135,000
