Overview
The HR Senior Leader is responsible for aligning the business objectives with the employees and managers across the Atlanta Braves Holding (ABHI) organization. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues. The successful HR Leader acts as a champion and change agent and as experience in supporting in a public company environment. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating proactively, the HRPB seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and the employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR Manager/Business Partner reports to the EVP/Chief Culture Officer and possible direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Consults with managers, providing HR guidance, where appropriate
- Leads the design and delivery of HR policies, programs, and procedures to align the workforce with the talent strategy and organizational culture. Remains up to date on HR best practices and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a key liaison to the Board of Directors, specifically supporting the Compensation Committee Chair with materials, insights, and recommendations on executive compensation, equity plans, and governance matters.
- Develop and present board materials, including compensation committee decks, executive pay benchmarking reports, and other key analyses for review and approval.
- Ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements, including proxy statement disclosures, executive compensation reporting, and other SEC-related filings.
- Negotiates and manages complex dispute resolution, handling confidential issues professionally and appropriately in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance as it relates to publicly held organizations. Partners with legal department as needed/required.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (i.e., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
- Identifies training needs for leaders and individual coaching needs
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success
- Partner with members of the HR, Legal, Finance and Accounting to serve clients
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or related field
- Minimum of 10 – 15 years of progressive HR experience
- Experience supporting a public organization including the Board of Directors.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Workday is preferred
- 5 – 7 years of people management experience
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships through a dedicated focus on client service and delivery
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience managing multiple searches through strong project management and prioritization skills
Preferred Qualifications
- HR Certification (e.g. CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR).
- Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or related field
- 5 – 7 years of people management experience
