What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Design Engineer II position at Lea & Braze Engineering, Inc.?
Qualifications
- Generally, 2 to 4 years of civil engineering design experience
- Plus, Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering
- Or, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with four (4) years of equivalent Design Engineer I or other professional engineering experience
- Plus, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is required, and California Professional Engineering (PE) License is encouraged.
- Ability to effectively use Civil 3D.
- Experience in general civil engineering design topics including utility design, hydraulic/hydrology, storm water quality, geometric layout, geotechnical and structural concepts
- Strong problem-solving, communication, multitasking and listening skills
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
- Committed dedication to ethical codes of practice
- Provide support to the Project Manager I/II and/or Project Engineer in preparing defined elements of project designs and collaborate with the Lea and Braze team to assist in specific design assignments
- Provide Design support for various Site Development plans (i.e. Grading and Drainage Plans, On Site and Street Improvement plans, Storm Water Quality Plans, Utility Plans, Parking Lot layout, Tentative Maps, Feasibility Exhibits, etc.) for various projects (i.e. Residential, Commercial, Mixed-Use, Public and Private Entities, and/or projects subject to DSA approval, etc.) for land development projects to company or specified standards
- Attend meetings, site visits and field inspections independently to coordinate various design aspects of projects with project consultants and/or contractor
- Review co-consultant reports, plans and /or recommendations and effectively implement into project design and documentation
- Participate in project coordination / correspondence with consultants (project architect, geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, arborist, surveyor and/or contractor)
- Assists team with project research and project coordination with governing municipalities / agencies
- Compute design calculations including earthwork quantities, impervious surface areas, drainage analysis, etc.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, and/or Project Engineers to prepare reports and supporting documents including hydrology reports, feasibility studies, engineers cost estimates, etc.
Salary : $95,000 - $114,400
