This position oversees the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives, emphasizing the enhancement of the cooperative's brand awareness and active engagement of our members. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- **Strategic Planning:**
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans aligned with the cooperative's goals and objectives
- Identify target audiences and create strategies to effectively reach and engage them
- Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives
- Develop department policies and procedures
- **Brand Management:**
- Uphold and enhance the cooperative's brand identity and messaging
- Ensure consistency in branding across all communication channels
- Monitor and manage the reputation of the cooperative in the market
- Creating press releases and publishing the cooperative's annual reports
- **Digital Marketing:**
- Oversee the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns
- Manage the cooperative's online presence, including the website and social media platforms
- Utilize analytics to measure the success of digital marketing efforts and optimize strategies accordingly
- **Traditional Marketing:**
- Plan and execute traditional marketing initiatives, including print, radio, and TV advertising
- Coordinate with external agencies to produce high-quality marketing materials
- **Market Research:**
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges
- Utilize data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies and decision-making
- **Budget Management:**
- Develop and manage the marketing budget effectively
- Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness in all marketing activities
- **Team Leadership:**
- Lead and motivate a marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:
- Develop and manage the cooperative's participation in community events and sponsorships, including the weatherization/ERC loan, school/community grant programs, Education Foundation Scholarship, and coloring contest, implementing the following steps:
- **Create a Community Engagement Strategy:**
- Identify key community events and sponsorships aligned with the cooperative's values and goals
- Outline the objectives and expected outcomes for each initiative
- **Build Relationships with Key Stakeholders:**
- Establish connections with local organizers, schools, and community leaders
- Collaborate with relevant entities to maximize the impact of sponsorships.
- **Coordinate Participation in Weatherization/ERC Loan Programs:**
- Partner with local organizations involved in weatherization initiatives
- Promote the cooperative's support through marketing channels to raise awareness
- **Facilitate School/Community Grant Programs:**
- Collaborate with schools and community organizations to understand their needs
- Develop clear guidelines for grant applications and establish a transparent evaluation process
- **Administer Education Foundation Scholarships:**
- Work closely with educational institutions to identify deserving candidates
- Establish a selection committee and criteria for awarding scholarships
- Promote scholarship opportunities within the community
- **Organize and Promote Coloring Contests:**
- Design engaging coloring contest themes relevant to the community
- Collaborate with local schools to distribute contest materials
- Promote the contest through various channels, including social media
- **Develop Marketing and Communication Plans:**
- Create promotional materials for each event and sponsorship opportunity
- Utilize social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to raise awareness
- **Measure and Report Impact:**
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of each initiative.
- Regularly assess and report on the impact of the cooperative's participation in community events and sponsorships
- **Seek Feedback and Continuous Improvement:**
- Collect feedback from the community, participants, and internal stakeholders
- Use feedback to make improvements and refine strategies for future engagements
- **Compliance and Documentation:**
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for sponsorships and community programs
- Maintain thorough documentation of participation, financial contributions, and outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Marketing Manager, preferably in the utility or electric cooperative industry
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage a team
- Familiarity with the electric cooperative industry is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard office setting
- On-call availability during emergencies
- Occasional overnight travel and after-hours work may be required
