Job Description
The IT Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of Lea County Electric Cooperative's IT systems. This position requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in network administration, security systems, and hardware management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the stability and integrity of IT assets, including planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network hardware, software, telephony equipment, and communication links.
- Provide expert-level support for all workstations and Windows servers, including setup of new user accounts and permission settings.
- Develop and implement effective security strategies for software systems, networks, and hardware.
- Monitor for external intrusions and attacks, and manage system security to ensure data integrity and protection.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with advanced certifications a plus.
- Two years of experience in computer-related roles, with a strong understanding of programming languages, operating systems, and software applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude and assist fellow employees in any work that expedites the business of the cooperative.
Working Conditions:
Usual office conditions, regular hours with scheduled overtime. Must be able to lift and carry PCs and related PC equipment, and operate in such a manner that a safe and hazard-free working environment is always maintained.
