Job Description

Job Title : Construction Foreman

Location : Charleston, SC and surrounding areas

Wage : $24-$30 (Dependent on Experience)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, Weekends as needed, 8-12 hour shifts

JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the job site, managing a small crew, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role requires proficiency in fine grading operations and the ability to address and resolve issues professionally. The Foreman will communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and owners to ensure project goals are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of a small crew, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Operate as a Fine Grade Operator III, demonstrating expertise in all related duties.
Identify and resolve job site problems in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, engineers, and owners to facilitate project progress.
Work independently with minimal supervision from the Superintendent, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies on the job site.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among crew members.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in construction preferred.

Proven experience in a construction foreman role or similar position.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges on-site.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a positive work environment.

SKILLS

Proficient in operating construction equipment and tools.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Basic computer skills for reporting and communication.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).

Ability to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.

Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
