Position Summary
The System Administrator responsibilities will include administrating, maintaining, developing and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of AFRL/RQ systems, servers, and databases.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of systems servers and databases.
- Install new software releases and system upgrades.
- Evaluate and install patches to resolve software related problems.
- Implement and resolve database backup issues.
- Capable of learning and understanding how the developed and commercial applications interact with the operating system and database to ensure proper integration, upgrades and patching.
- Minimize disruption to application function and operation.
- Provide users with technical support and assistance.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within systems administration and database administration.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor`s degree or greater in computer or information science or related field
- 10 Years of Experience
- Security CE
Skills and Certifications
- Windows Server 2012
- MS IIS Server
- DISA STIGS
- MS SQL Server 2008
- Cold Fusion Application Server
- Virtualization
- Sybase SQL Anywhere ORACLE/APEX
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with DoD and USAF systems
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)
- Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor
- Extended Telephone Use
- May require lifting of 20-50 lbs
