Position Overview
The ESL Paraprofessional at Leadership Prep School - Elementary Campus will assist in providing support to English Learners (ELs) in achieving academic success. The paraprofessional will work under the direction of ESL Coordinator, classroom teachers and campus administration to implement instructional strategies that enhance language acquisition and comprehension.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; other specialized and adaptive equipment used by students
Posture: Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking and reaching
Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning or students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting non-ambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases)
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Instructional Support:
- Assist in delivering small-group and one-on-one instruction for English Learners (ELs).
- Support classroom teachers in accommodating assignments and activities to accommodate language proficiency levels.
- Reinforce language development through structured activities and interventions.
- Provide individualized support to students in understanding and completing classroom assignments.
- Assist students with developing English language skills in speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
- Support ELs in accessing and utilizing classroom resources effectively.
- Work closely with ESL Coordinator and general education teachers to ensure the academic progress of ELs.
- Communicate regularly with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Assist in fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and organizing resources for ESL instruction.
- Support in administering assessments and tracking student language development.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or higher preferred).
- Previous experience working with English Learners (preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Bilingual proficiency in Telegu or another language (preferred but not required).
