Job Description
A travel nurse RN Long Term Care Director of Nursing is a key role in providing high-quality care to residents in long-term care settings. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience as a DON in a long-term care setting and possess the necessary qualifications and skills.
Responsibilities
- Healthcare Management and Operations:
- Develop and implement effective healthcare management strategies to ensure quality care delivery.
- Quality Management:
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Staff Development:
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development among nursing staff, promoting professional growth and advancement.
- Resident and Family Support Systems:
- Ensure that resident needs are met through effective communication and collaboration with families and other healthcare professionals.
- Community Outreach:
- Promote the facility's services and build relationships with community partners to enhance access to care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state assigned or in an eligible Nurse Compact State.
- Demonstrated competencies in health care management and operations, quality management, staff development, resident and family support systems, and community outreach.
- Possess empathy and passion for serving others.
- Serve as a leader and a trusted resource to other healthcare team members.
- Strong computer literacy and competency skills.
- Up-to-date clinical compliance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR via American Heart Association (AHA).
- Two-step TB test.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months.
