Leading Edge Before & After School, is a leading provider of extended-day learning programs for children at preschool, elementary, and middle schools across the country. We focus on academic skills using research-based programming to reinforce classroom learning with activities that target social and emotional development, physical well-being, and foster teamwork. Our before-school, after-school, and summer programs are led by experienced educators in safe and nurturing environments, delivering exciting, motivating, and fun activities that extend learning into the out-of-school-time environment.

Position Overview:

We're seeking an HR Generalist to work directly with our CEO, Field Leadership Team, and Corporate Office for a 6-month interim position. The successful candidate will ensure we have the right processes and systems in place to support our employees and help departments deliver outstanding service in a cost-effective manner.

Duration & Schedule:

  • Term: April 2025 to October/November 2025 (6 months)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (weekdays only, no weekends)
  • Start Date: Week of April 14th, 2025
  • Location: 100% Remote (must reside in New Jersey, Colorado, Washington D.C., or Pennsylvania)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually (prorated for a 6-month term)
  • Pay Schedule: Bi-monthly (8th and 23rd of each month)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HR compliance, employee relations, benefits, and systems administration
  • Administer systems including Google Workspace, Payroll Management, Amazon, and Staples
  • Create accounts for new hires as needed
  • Maintain HRIS system
  • Update job descriptions, benefit guides, offer letters, performance evaluations, and employee improvement plans
  • Assist field directors with field staff development
  • Provide coaching on management strategies including goal setting, feedback, recognition, employee engagement, and retention
  • Stay current on labor laws and update policies, handbooks, manuals, and labor law posters
  • Answer policy questions, investigate policy violations, and propose solutions
  • Support employee relations issues
  • Assist with annual benefit enrollment renewals and provide benefit information to new hires
  • Add and remove employees from the Calm App membership benefit
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Utilize exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Google Workspace and web-based products
  • Meet assigned deadlines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of human resources experience
  • Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Interview Process:

  • Initial virtual screening via Zoom
  • Virtual interview with Director of People Operations
  • Final interview with National Operations Manager and/or CEO
