Love the idea of working with animals? The League for Animal Welfare is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Batavia. Founded in 1949, the League operates the leading no-kill animal shelter and adoption center in the Tri-State area. Its mission is to reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati by providing a compassionate, no-kill shelter and programs that promote responsible pet care. We have two part-time positions open to join our team of animal lovers!
Cat Kennel Technician- If you love cats, this maybe your dream job! This position is responsible for cleaning and caring for 80-100 kitty cats! You will feed, medicate and keep 17 cat rooms and cages clean. Hours are Wednesdays & Fridays from 6am-2pm. Must be able to constantly bend to clean litterboxes (3-4 per room), be on your feet for entire shift and lift 40lb bags of food and litter. Successful applicants should have previous experience handling animals and should not be afraid of cats or have any cat related allergies (yes we actually have to say that). Ideal candidates should expect a brief phone interview then an invitation to a PAID working interview!
Front Desk/ Cat Intake Assistant- This person is the face of the League to all pet owners! They interact with all vet clinic clients and their cats & dogs as well as incoming shelter cats and their owners. Ideal candidates should be experienced talking with pet owners, handling cats & dogs, scheduling medical appointments, performing data entry & basic math, processing payments and reconciling end of day close out. Candidates with any cat or dog related allergies need NOT apply. This position is two days per week, Mondays & Tuesdays 7am-5pm.
Both positions start at $14/hour. After 6 months, everyone is eligible for 401k! Happy to also consider as one full-time position 4 days per week. Qualified candidates must be responsible, at least 18 years old, able to consistently bend and lift 50 lbs., able to pass a background check including drug test and have reliable transportation. Position requires standing for long periods of time, constant bending, kneeling and lifting.
