Community Development Director
About the Role:
This position oversees the Community Development Department, managing all planning activities including comprehensive planning, development review, zoning administration, building inspection, code enforcement, rental registration, and other Community Development tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all planning activities
- Serve as City Planner, performing technical and complex development reviews
- Exercise oversight of all planning duties through delegation to Senior Planner
- Supervise Building Official and Senior Planner with limited oversight of Building and Code Enforcement Inspector
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, or related field
- Considerable experience in planning, economic development, management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as City Planner or similar role
- Master's degree, Minnesota local government experience, and previous supervisory experience preferred
