The Data Engineering (DE) team is committed to mastering healthcare data and ensuring seamless, accurate data management across our systems. We empower users with high-quality data, enabling data-driven decision-making in operating room management.


The DE team plays a key role in both building and supporting our product. We make sure iQueue for Operating Rooms runs on accurate, reliable data. Even though our software can handle imperfect data, our users expect precision—so data quality is always our top priority.


As part of the Engineering organization, we work closely with other engineers, product managers, and internal teams to solve complex problems. This includes handling customer-specific data requirements, optimizing system scalability, and addressing architectural challenges.


Our office is in Santa Clara, CA, and for this role we prefer candidates who can occasionally work onsite.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable, high-performance data pipelines that transform clients’ data into the format used by our product.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and analysts, to turn business needs into effective and scalable data solutions.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external customers to resolve complex data issues and ensure data reliability and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure data quality end-to-end by maintaining high accuracy and consistency when working with complex data systems. Uphold meticulous attention to detail to meet all business and healthcare security requirements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, healthcare data standards, and industry best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team and host knowledge sharing sessions. 
  • Promote adherence to best practices and mentor less experienced engineers within the team.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • The ability to own and lead projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment.
  • 8 years of experience in data engineering or a similar field.
  • 5 years of experience with data orchestration tools, like Airflow.
  • Solid skills in SQL and Python.
  • Extensive experience in developing and overseeing scalable data architectures and ETL pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerized workflows.
  • Expertise with AWS services like S3, SQS, and Lambda.
  • Deep experience with data warehousing and data lake, including relational databases (like MySQL and Redshift) and NoSQL databases (like DynamoDB).


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
  • Experience with application development, preferably with Java or Scala.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, EHR, PHI).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).

$130,000 - $180,000 a year
LeanTaaS takes a market-based approach to pay. The offered base salary will reflect careful consideration of a number of factors, including the level you are hired into, your location, skills and qualifications, prior relevant experience, internal equity, and market conditions. This range may be modified in the future.
