The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for performing all HR-related duties on a professional level. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager this position fulfills responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. Responsibilities are varied, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment, and multitasking.

HR SPECIALIST

The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for performing all HR-related duties on a professional level. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager this position fulfills responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance. Responsibilities are varied, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgment, and multitasking.
The Role
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Serves as a link between management and employees by managing questions, resolving work related problems, and interpreting and administering the collective bargaining agreement and all company policies and procedures.
- Conducts full cycle recruitment for all salaried and hourly (union and Non-union) positions with the company.
- Assists in maintaining the human resource information system (PeopleSoft/SuccessFactors) to process new hires, changes, terminations, transfers, promotions, etc.
- Utilize Kronos system for attendance and timekeeping.
- Assists in conducting investigations related to filed complaints as required.
- Assists and/or administers disciplinary action as required.
- Conducts and provides continuous improvement to our New Hire Orientation program.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Opportunities for advancement across Lear’s manufacturing network and corporate offices.
- Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources Management preferred or related discipline and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.3 years’ experience in Human Resources, PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Skilled knowledge or direct experience in Kronos processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication, and people skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, word, PowerPoint and excel.
- Union experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
