Position Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the quality strategy for the company to ensure the manufacturing and quality processes deliver exceptional quality products that meet all customer, industry, regulatory, and government quality standards. The Quality manager will develop and monitor the Quality Management System (QMS) and its impact on production processes and execute continuous improvement strategies ensure the highest product performance resulting in customer satisfaction. The Quality manager will lead a team that promotes a mindset of high quality and performance aligned with the company's Purpose, Core Beliefs, and Values. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company's culture is positive and supports safety, productivity, and delivery across Lear west fabrication, LLC manufacturing as an integral part of the operations leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team and all team members to evaluate and improve quality processes, culture, and systems to maximize operational capabilities & efficiencies.
- Design, implement and monitor all quality programs, and ensure suppliers provide materials that positively impact the quality of our products. Ensure that the QMS is followed and compliant to AWS and AISC standards.
- Oversee the Corrective Action (CA) process including customer complaints, internal processes and supplier materials. Serve as the quality expert in leading manufacturing and engineering teams in Corrective Actions as needed.
- Develop and lead continuous improvement opportunities that impact cost or quality standards. Monitor processes to ensure results that improve or exceed customer expectations and industry requirements for quality standards.
- Lead by example, demonstrating leadership traits and reinforcing the Company purpose, core beliefs, and values to all team members.
- Lead and direct the quality team, delegating authority and accountability, managing performance and coaching team members to achieve results and reinforce the positive culture.
- Collaborate with operational and engineering teams for product development, improvements and competitive product Fabrication. Partner on projects that drive market growth, quality improvements, cost savings and cycle time reduction. Facilitate change management when new processes are introduced.
- Use statistical analysis and controls to monitor quality and help define process capabilities and identify quality performance trends. Provide monthly updates on findings, improvements, and results. Ensure current knowledge of best practices to improve quality.
- Represent the company in meetings and conferences for key industry and regulatory associations.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment, with 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong quality background with strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, and quality control.
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing desired.
- Experience working with AISC and AWS certification environment preferred, including strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 requirements.
- Current AWS CWI required.
- NDT certifications preferred
- Heavy industrial manufacturing a plus.
- Experience with welding, powder coating, steel quality or similar processes preferred.

Education and Certification Qualifications:

Travel:
- Periodic travel to visit plant sites, customers or attend industry training may be required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
