LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, invites candidates to apply for an anticipated School Social Worker opening for the 2025-2026 school year at The Friendship School in Waterford, Connecticut.
The School Social Worker will facilitate small social skills groups, providing counseling services related to IEP goals and objectives, consulting and collaborating closely with the school team, completing assessments as appropriate, and partnering with families, caregivers and outside agencies to ensure young children have access to the supports and services necessary for success. The School Social Worker will participate in building wide initiatives to support positive behavioral approaches and integrate social emotional learning through Tier one instruction and provide corresponding MTSS supports and services. Previous experience working in a school, hospital, or clinic setting with young children required. Experience creating and implementing IEPs preferred. Experience with school-based social emotional supports, cognitive behavioral therapy, school wide and individualized learning and behavior systems, and FBAs/BIPS preferred. Proper school certification required.
