About the Role:

We are looking for tutors based in the United States. This role is a one-on-one online (work from home) or in person (student home visit) tutoring position. For online tutoring this position is 100% remote work from home, where you will be conducting tutoring sessions online through the LearnEd platform and digital classroom where you will share screen, whiteboard, camera and audio with your students. We may also offer for you to run a small online group class of up to five students.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring following the student’s curriculum with lessons tailored to your student's learning requirements.
• Prepare student study plans.
• Exam preparation. Interact positively and professionally with your students, parents and LearnEd staff to provide a safe and fun learning environment.
• Complete a progress report in a timely manner for each student after each week of tutoring. This report will be distributed to LearnEd and the parents or guardian of the student so that student progress and problem areas can be tracked.

Key Selection Criteria:

Required Qualifications for Elementary School tutors:

• Speak fluent English with confident communication skills.
• Completed or currently completing a primary school teaching qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring or teaching primary school students in your chosen subject area.

Required Qualifications for Middle and High School tutors:

• Speak fluent English with confident communication skills, and:
• High performing graduate with outstanding results and are currently a university undergraduate student.

or; Hold a completed Bachelor or Master’s Degree from a recognised tertiary institution with outstanding results in a related subject,

or; Qualified teacher with teaching experience, capable of teaching all levels of their subject area following the any US based school curriculum. The ideal candidates will also:

• Have a passion for teaching. Previous tutoring, teaching and/or mentoring experience will be looked upon favourably.
• Have a strong knowledge in the subject areas that they are willing to teach.
• Be available to work at least four hours per week
• Be able to self-manage their schedule and attend lessons on a regular basis with superb punctuality and submit progress reports on the day of each lesson.
• Must be able to create a warm and happy learning atmosphere but also be in control and lead throughout the lesson.
• Be willing to prioritise and put their students first.

Technology Requirements (online tutoring only):

• Access to a stable internet connection capable of at least 10 mbps upload and download speed. Wired connection preferred.
• Your own drawing tablet and PC.
• A microphone or headset and webcam.

Other Information:

• This role requires tutors to be available for an immediate start. If you are unable to commence immediately, then please apply when you are ready to commence.
