Reports To: Executive Director

Salary Range: 80k-85k

Full-time position

Position Overview: The Program Director will play a strategic role in advancing the mission of Parent University through data-informed leadership, cross-functional team management, and direct oversight of key operations including adult education, child programming, family engagement, and integrated service delivery. The Director will be expected to support continuous quality improvement, manage complex logistics (including early childhood care and industrial kitchen oversight), and serve as a key representative with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership

  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams including Operations, Education, and Family Services staff.
  • Ensure department heads and managers are empowered, supported and held accountable for departmental goals and program excellence.
  • Ensure collaboration among all leaders in the organization
  • Maintain a strong presence at the program site to observe operations and model leadership behaviors.

Program Planning and Evaluation

  • Implement the 2Gen model, coordinating efforts in adult education, parenting, child development, and family engagement.
  • Drive strategic planning and execution based on evaluation findings, setting short- and long-term goals.
  • Utilize program data for quality improvements, staffing decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and monitor systems to track program performance and participant outcomes.

Management

  • Supervise and coach program managers and leads, ensuring strong communication and effective delegation to support day-to-day operations of early childhood programming and adult education services.
  • Ensure compliance and alignment of on-site childcare and industrial kitchen operations with safety standards and program goals.
  • Develop and manage the program budget, focusing on efficiency and sustainability.

*Additional duties/initiatives may be added, as necessary, or as assigned, by Executive Director of Elementary Learning Centers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Business or related field.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including direct supervision of managers.
  • 3–5 years of community-based program oversight, ideally in adult education or family engagement.
  • Success in utilizing evaluation data for program improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Experience with early childhood programs or daycare settings.
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations and food distribution logistics.
  • Experience securing grants and managing program budgets.
  • Strong communication skills with diverse audiences, including staff, parents, and funders.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence working with families from diverse backgrounds.
