Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Literature Teacher for our 15-day summer program (July 7th-25th).
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM, with additional paid prep and report writing time.

HS Literature Teacher Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach reading comprehension strategies, including identifying key ideas, themes, and main ideas in texts.
- Guide students in answering literal and inferential questions through engaging group discussions.
- Facilitate discussions on cultural and social contexts within stories to enhance deeper understanding.
- Use Thinking Maps to help students track story elements such as characters, setting, and conflict.
- Provide individualized support and accommodations to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to reinforce student learning and social development.
- Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and prevents academic regression.
- Complete prep and report writing to track student progress.
