Summer Program HS Writing Teacher (July 7-25)

Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Writing Teacher for our 15-day summer program (July 7th-25th).

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM, with additional paid prep and report writing time.

HS Writing Teacher Essential Responsibilities:

• Teach written expression skills, reinforcing parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives) and their proper usage.
• Guide students in developing sentence structure (simple, compound, complex) and basic paragraph organization.
• Use Thinking Maps as prewriting organizers to support structured responses to prompts.
• Support students in editing and revising their work, focusing on punctuation, capitalization, syntax, and grammar.
• Provide individualized support and accommodations to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to reinforce student learning and social development.
• Create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and prevents academic regression.
• Complete prep and report writing to track student progress.
