Student Support Specialist (Bilingual - English & Spanish Required)
Summary:
As a Student Support Specialist, you will complete general administrative duties such as data entry, record keeping, scheduling official exams, proctoring state assessments, and supporting adult learners on their journey to earn their high school equivalency diploma.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates student orientations and enrollment services
- Completes and enters student enrollment packets and monthly updates into our data entry software
- Monitors and reports student attendance
- Maintains administrative and student data spreadsheets
- Oversees student pre-assessments and schedules official exams
- Maintains clean and accurate records to assist in program audits
- Assists instructors by administering practice tests
- Attends recruitment meetings, program events, and maintains communication with community partners
Skills in:
- Microsoft office: proficient in Word; Excel; PowerPoint
- Computer Literacy: Windows; use of internet; proficient typing skills
- Effective communication and listening skills
- Organization and time management
Ability to:
- Work with customers of diverse backgrounds and personalities
- Work with minimal support and supervision
- Be cross-trained and willing to help in other areas
- Analyze, input and evaluate data
- Effectively communicate fluently in English and Spanish – verbal and written
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree; and some administrative assistant work experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. **Background check required
