A Leavitt Group affiliate, Risk Services of Louisiana, is looking for a Risk & Claims Advocate for Shreveport, Bossier City LA. or Houston, TX. As a Claims Advocate, you will be responsible for assisting the property/casualty risk and claims team. You will work directly with clients, Producers, Account Executives, Account Managers, risk, and claims representatives to manage our existing and prospective clients.
Responsibilities:
- Collection, input and reporting of property & casualty claims.
- Monitors claims, targeting large accounts for customized service.
- Reviews claim status, action plans, and reserves using technical problem-solving skills.
- Provides status reports to clients and keeps team informed.
- Researches and obtains claims data from claim carriers and updates necessary parties.
- Sorts loss runs to analyze claims data to strategize approach to claims management.
- Handles claims consistent with our clients and corporate policies, procedures, and "Best Practices" and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements
- Assists Risk & Claims team to retain existing accounts.
- Attends appropriate and applicable continuing education courses as needed to maintain position knowledge and licensing.
- Maintains quality relationships with insurance carriers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze complex coverage issues with Claims Manager
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Disciplined, well-organized, and self-motivated person.
- Strong Microsoft Excel & Office Suite 360 skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to negotiate with others in an appropriate manner; ability to listen.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
Job Requirements/Competencies:
- Property & Casualty license required w/in 90 days
- 5- 8 years Agency experience preferred.
- Prior experience as a Team Lead or Manager a plus
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Detail oriented and able to maintain compliance standards.
- Must be dependable, provide timely response, and complete work activities.
