Law Clerk Job Description :
The Law Clerk will complement the firm's attorneys and will have opportunities to draft motions, pleadings, and discovery requests (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.). The law clerk will also be assigned various research projects related to domestic relations and civil discovery.
This is a great opportunity for a law student who is seeking to gain experience and further develop their motion writing skills. Attorneys provide consistent feedback to help law clerks continuously improve their legal writing. There is also an opportunity to attend court hearings, depositions, client meetings, etc. with attorneys.
Law Clerk Job Duties :
- Writing the first draft of motions / oppositions with guidance from attorneys.
- Preparing pleadings in various civil matters.
- Writing legal memos or correspondence to opposing counsel or clients.
- Tracking and billing your time.
- Must maintain client confidence by keeping client / attorney information confidential.
