About the Position
The Maintenance Porter performs maintenance, trash removal, supply delivery, mowing, and room set-up tasks as assigned.
Pay: $18.00 per hour, plus an additional $1.50 per hour on weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Move furnishings and set-up rooms for activities and events in the facility.
- Assist with internal elder moves in independent living. Relocates furniture and equipment as needed.
- Make deliveries of mail, packages, and other items to various locations on campus as required.
- Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned by supervisor including trash, recycling, and biohazard removal in apartment buildings.
- Power washes trash and recycling containers on established schedule.
- Receive daily work assignment from supervisor to assist maintenance staff.
- Follows proper procedure, chemical, and equipment for each task.
- Moves equipment and/or furniture during office relocations, cleaning, and/or rearrangement.
- Notify supervisor of equipment needing repair.
- Reports safety hazards to supervisor.
- Keep equipment, closets, carts, and cleaning areas neat and orderly.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor (hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, replacing filters, etc.).
- Ability to use cell phone or tablet to manage daily work assignments.
- Maintain equipment in proper working order including performing basic preventative care.
- Possesses general knowledge of computer systems and has the ability to navigate basic Windows programs.
- Must follow all universal precautions procedures, including use of personal protective equipment, due to potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
