About the Position
As a Porter, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, supply deliveries, resident moves, and room set-up tasks as assigned.
Pay: $18.00/hour, plus an additional $1.50/hour on weekends!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Move furnishings and set-up rooms for activities and events in the facility.
- Assist with internal elder moves; relocates furniture and equipment as needed.
- Make deliveries of mail, packages, and other items to various locations on campus as required.
- Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor, including trash, recycling, and biohazard removal in apartment buildings.
- Power washes trash and recycling containers on established schedule.
- Conduct general maintenance tasks as assigned (hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, replacing filters, etc.).
- Maintain equipment in proper working order, including performing basic preventative care.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance
- Ability to use force to move objects: 10 lbs. constantly, 30 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to use cell phone or tablet to manage daily work assignments
- Possess general l knowledge of computer systems with the ability to navigate basic Windows programs
- Ability to follow universal precautions procedures, including use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
