Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position promotes and supports continuous improvement and a growth mindset using Lean methodologies. You will be partnering with the Business Unit Leader and Maintenance Lead as a focused team to support the production teams and ensure that processes are well documented to drive improvement and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead improvement projects
- Develop, propose and prioritize Lean Six Sigma and process improvement projects;
- Execute Lean Six Sigma and process improvement projects related to the plant's strategic plan;
- Support quality and process specialists in the implementation of projects;
- Facilitate workshops in a DMAIC project management approach;
- Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement;
- Manage change brought about by new methods;
- Provide operations support.
Qualifications:
- Completed education in Food science, Operations Management or Engineering field OR Bachelor’s degree or technologist diploma plus relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience with the different “Lean” approaches/tools; Lean certification, considered an asset
- Have implemented or participated in the implementation of change management.
- Have a good understanding of recognized process management, continuous improvement methods and problem-solving tools
- Strong people management skills are a must
- Must be capable at mentoring and coaching employees for success.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
- Results-oriented and the ability to motivate a team to perform at high levels
- Experience in troubleshooting and process improvement
- Ability to make good decisions with an innovative approach
- Ability to train and transfer knowledge effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with SAP considered an asset
