Position Summary:
LECO wouldn’t be an industry leader without its successful sales team. We are seeking a qualified Sales Engineer who exhibits an interest in chemical analysis and material testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the sales process and play a key role in all field sales before, during, and after the sales process for LECO’s laboratory solutions for Metallurgical, Spectroscopy, Thermal and Elemental Analysis. We’re seeking a quick learner who has strong listening and demonstration skills to showcase our product offerings in a compelling matter. The successful candidate will interface and assist existing and new potential customers, qualify prospects and work with the customer base to find solutions for their analytical and materials characterization problems and increase our market growth. This position focuses on LECO’s customer base in Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The ideal candidate will reside in Central Ohio
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for direct sales of all assigned products and related accessories /consumables.
- Evaluate customer needs and prepare/deliver appropriate presentations on testing protocols and procedures for both Prime and Metallographic Equipment and Consumable offerings.
- Prime Analytical Instrumentation for Materials Science (Primary/Secondary Metals Markets) and Organic/Energy (Foods, Feeds, Coal, Etc.) of which elemental analysis is performed by combustion, inert gas fusion, OE spectroscopy techniques.
- Metallographic Equipment including sample preparation, optical and hardness testing equipment.
- Attend meetings, sales events, and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments
- Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media
- Travel assigned territory in domestic USA
- Territory Location – Ohio and Northern Kentucky
- Requires up to 60% overnight travel
- Work with Service / Applications / Technical Communications / Research & Development on customer issues, installations, samples, etc. as required

- BS Degree preferably in Chemistry, Material Science, or other related disciplines
