Job Summary:
To perform sorting, washing, drying and finishing functions of the laundry department as assigned while maintaining linen inventory and distribution.

- Collect and sort soiled linen from all areas of hospital.
- Load and unload washing machines and dryers prior to folding laundry.
- Issue, store, and inventory hospital linen for all departments.
- Fill departmental requisitions by counting, assembling, and placing on carts for delivery to assigned departments.
- Inventory linen items periodically to determine replacement needs in order to maintain adequate supply.
- Assist in cleaning machines, floors and other cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of various methods of maintaining, cleaning and preserving laundry with proper chemicals according to state and federal regulations.

- Ability to maintain an established work schedule; assess and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
