Job Summary:
The Rural Health Clinic Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of the rural health clinics. This role involves managing staff, budgets, patient services, and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Clinic Manager works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients in a rural setting, addressing unique community health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to clinical protocols. Delegating tasks and ensuring the team is performing well.
- Manage clinic staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Implement and monitor clinic policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Patient Care & Service:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by coordinating with healthcare providers and support staff.
- Address patient concerns and improve patient satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Monitor patient flow, appointment scheduling, and reduce wait times to optimize patient experience.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage clinic budgets, including forecasting expenses, managing billing, and optimizing revenue cycles.
- Oversee the clinic’s billing and coding processes to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims. Including the handling of disputes with insurance companies.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report regularly on financial health. Managing payments in the rural health clinic.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Implement quality assurance programs and ensure the clinic meets standards set by accrediting bodies.
- Oversee the proper use of medical records, ensuring privacy and security protocols are followed.
- Community Engagement & Outreach:
- Build relationships with community stakeholders to promote health education and outreach programs.
- Collaborate with local organizations to address the unique healthcare needs of the rural population.
- Represent the clinic in community health initiatives and public health campaigns.
- Technology & Systems Management:
- Oversee the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and clinic management systems.
- Ensure staff are trained on healthcare technology and maintain up-to-date skills in software usage.
- Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in a rural or community health clinic.
- Proven experience managing clinical operations, including staff supervision and budget management.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage staff and engage with patients.
- Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and billing processes.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare management systems.
