Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking an AR Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is with a clean energy manufacturing company that partners with large OEM companies in the US, Japan, and Europe. The components produced range from small parts used in heart pumps to larger components for race cars and naval ships, all focusing on turning into usable energy for electrical motors. The company boasts an average employee tenure of over 10 years, reflecting its family-type business environment. This is a newly created position, and the chosen candidate will report to the CFO and work closely with an existing Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Manage full charge bookkeeping responsibilities.
- Perform G/L and bank reconciliations.
- Enter sales orders and generate invoices, with training provided.
- Enter payroll for processing, handled by an outside PEO partner.
- Prepare 1099 forms.
- Assist with the annual audit in collaboration with a CPA firm during the second week of January.
- Execute month-end close processes, including posting journal entries and accruals.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Manage perpetual inventory, with training provided.
- Handle revenue recognition from contracts, with training provided.
- Maintain PTO records.
- Administer HR tasks between the company and the outside PEO.
Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance, or economics is required.
- 2-3 years of similar experience, with a willingness to train and grow.
- HR background is ideal, or a willingness to learn, as the role involves being the local admin for HR duties.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, first shift.
Salary
$65,000 - $80,000 per year
