Position: Construction Accounting Clerk
Pay: $33-$36/hr
Hours: 32 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports related to construction projects.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Track job costs, ensuring expenses are properly allocated to the correct projects.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and vendor accounts.
- Prepare and submit lien waivers, contractor payments, and other required documentation.
- Assist with payroll processing, including tracking hours and verifying wages for field employees.
- Maintain organized financial records for audits and tax purposes.
- Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors regarding billing and payments.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Perform other administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction or a related industry.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Procore, or Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Understanding of job costing, AIA billing, and construction-specific accounting procedures is a plus.
