Senior Accountant

Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong background in accounting and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Review and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and recommend adjustments.
• Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end close process.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial operations as necessary.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred (or in progress).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience with financial audits and working with external auditors is a plus.
