Payroll Specialist
Duration: 3 months, Contract, W-2
Pay: $21.57 - $23.57/hr
Location: Onsite in Boca Raton, CA
Job Description:
* Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local regulations related to time and attendance (e.g., leaves, time off, holidays).
* Audit time entries and submit case documentation for garnishment processing.
* Calculate and process special payroll checks.
* Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, time, and attendance.
* Address leave pay issues and resolve inquiries through the case management tool.
* Research and resolve ACH returns and lost checks.
* Provide time correction data for payroll input processed by the vendor.
* Input hours for Short-Term Disability pay in the time system.
* Create cases for garnishments and support orders.
* Process Bureau of Labor Statistic Reports and unsupported vendor incidental employment verifications.
* Support process improvement initiatives and develop a strong understanding of cross-functional processes affecting time and attendance.
* Assist payroll projects, Sr. Time & Attendance Specialist, and Supervisor with Kronos-related special requests.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma & 1-3 years in time management, payroll, or accounting.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
* Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
* Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
* Customer service experience, including handling sensitive information and difficult customers.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office - Intermediate Excel skills
* Knowledge of Kronos Time Management & Experience with Workday Payroll
* Knowledge of Workday HCM or any payroll/time attendance system
