Semiconductor / Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Location : Scotts Valley, Ca.
Direct Hire / Onsite
Salary : $125k - $145k per annum
The quality engineer is an individual contributor who will work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, customers, and suppliers. The quality engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures. A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
The Quality Engineer works with suppliers to manage and improve their processes, drive operational excellence in supply chain operations, and participate in continuous improvement programs. In this role, you will work for the Quality Manager to manage the return of defective parts and work with suppliers on corrective actions. You will visit key suppliers to review the quality factors of their performance, promote successful resolution, and manage the continuous improvement activities between our organization and the suppliers. You will monitor the quality performance of suppliers and report quality metrics to management. Finally, you will ensure that suppliers meet our industry-specific processes, standards, and objectives for material and process management, on-time delivery and out-of-box quality.
Responsibilities :
- Developing and implementing quality standards.
- Developing and implementing quality control systems.
- Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
- Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
- Define and monitor supplier performance metrics.
- Evaluate and report on supplier performance.
- Identify risks associated with the selected supplier base.
- Participate in cost reduction efforts.
- Create presentations and process flow charts to support continuous process improvement programs.
- Work with engineering and suppliers to resolve complex problems to ensure on-time delivery of critical material.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry trends.
