Accounts Payable Specialist
Ledgent is currently partnering with a firm located in NE Denver on a direct-hire search for an accounts payable specialist. This position involves performing various accounts payable tasks, including invoice entry, processing payments, and ensuring the accurate calculation of discounts while adhering to a structured chart of accounts. The role is essential in managing payment processing, verification, and research of invoices, contributing to overall expense control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter invoice data accurately and process payments in a timely manner.
- Ensure payments are made promptly to prevent late fees and maximize early payment discounts.
- Process invoices by obtaining payment authorizations and verifying transaction details, including matching documentation and preparing disbursements.
- Investigate discrepancies related to invoice vs. purchase order variances and take necessary corrective actions.
- Assess the accuracy and completeness of invoices, ensuring appropriate coding and payment descriptions are applied.
- Organize and manage workload efficiently, utilizing modern office technology and business applications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Accounting coursework is preferred.
- Minimum of two years of accounts payable experience required.
- Strong understanding of invoice payment terms, discount calculations, due dates, and chart of accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail to detect and correct data entry errors.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining confidentiality.
- 10-key by touch proficiency is required.
