Ledgent Accounting has an immediate opening for an AP Specialist in Newburyport, MA. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience with a strong EP background.
Position; AP Specialist (DIrect Hire)
Location: Newburyport, MA (On-Site)
Pay: $28-$32/hour
Premise:
The AP Specialist is responsible for executing all aspects of the accounts payable process across multiple divisions, under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Match invoices to purchase orders, shipping/receiving documents, and other supporting records. Obtain managerial approval as required, adhering to company authorization guidelines.
- Audit invoices for accuracy, including quantity, pricing, and documentation. Address discrepancies with purchasing teams and/or vendors.
- Process approved vendor invoices for multiple divisions and calculate corporate allocations for centralized billing items (e.g., FedEx, data lines, long-distance phone bills, expense reports). Generate and maintain posting journals for internal control purposes.
- Prepare and issue vendor checks, including assembling supporting documentation for managerial approval and signature. Maintain accurate posting journals across divisions.
- Maintain vendor records, ensuring critical fields (e.g., eligible discounts, remit-to addresses) are accurate and up-to-date.
- Resolve vendor issues promptly and efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- 3 years of related experience or training in accounting/bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software).
- Experience with ERP required.
