Ledgent is partnering with a client in the financial services industry adding a Controller to their newly created finance team! This role would be responsible for working with multiple clients from a consultative approach.
This role is hybrid (must live locally) in the south metro with some travel required to client sites.
Direct Hire. $130,000-$160,000 discretionary bonus. Strong benefits and UNLIMITED PTO.
Job Description:
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
- Oversee client accounting operations, ensuring smooth month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare, review, and approve financial reports in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard client assets and ensure compliance.
- Create management reports, forecasts, and budgets to support decision-making.
- Train client staff on financial controls, best practices, and reporting standards.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local compliance regulations.
- Assist clients in preparing for and navigating external audits.
Consulting Services:
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring high-quality, on-time deliverables.
- Serve as the primary financial point of contact for clients.
- Evaluate client financial systems, processes, policies, and controls, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Lead clients through the selection, design, and implementation of new policies, accounting systems, or software.
- Provide strategic financial planning guidance, including budgeting and forecasting, to help clients align their financial objectives with business goals.
- Lead and mentor team members within the Accounting and Advisory practice, fostering development and ensuring high standards of work.
- Develop internal playbooks, tools, and initiatives to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another closely related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- 2 or more years of experience as a Controller or in a similar level finance role.
- CPA, CMA, or other closely related certification or licensure.
- Experience working in a consulting or fractional role supporting multiple clients
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite software and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Thompson Reuters CP, etc.)
- Proven ability to work on multiple engagements and meet competing priorities
