Project Accountant - Billing & Invoicing - Remote Flex (Deltek)

• Pay rate: $26-$32/hour Bonus (Based on Individual & Company Performance)
• Schedule: M-F, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Flexible)
• Work Environment: This role offers remote flexibility-most of the team is fully remote, must be local to the Twin Cities and are open to coming into the Bloomington office on occasion.
• Temp candidates must have Deltek Vantagepoint experience.

Summary:

We're partnering with a leading engineering consulting firm to add a Project Accounting Administrator to their finance support team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2 years of billing or invoicing experience-especially if you've worked with Deltek Vantagepoint and enjoy a role that requires attention to detail and strong document formatting skills.

Position Overview:

As a Project Accounting Administrator, you'll work directly with project managers and finance teams to support project setup, invoicing, and collections. You'll play a critical role in ensuring client billing is accurate, professional, and aligned with contractual terms. This role requires comfort navigating Word documents for invoice formatting and a strong eye for detail.

What You'll Do:

• Set up new projects in Deltek Vantagepoint, assisting Project Manager to identify project work breakdown structures
• Review contracts, task orders, and purchase orders before billing.
• Prepare and send invoices based on contract terms and internal standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing accuracy and address any discrepancies.
• Run and analyze project reports (budget vs. actual), helping identify corrective actions.
• Track and support collections by coordinating with clients and project teams.
• Troubleshoot accounting issues related to invoicing or receivables.
• Ensure invoice formatting is polished and compliant with company standards.

What We're Looking For:

• 2 years of customized invoicing or itemized billing experience
• Strong Microsoft Word skills (comfortable formatting/editing complex documents)
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint (or a similar ERP system)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLookups a plus)
• Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a deadline-driven environment

Nice to Have:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Admin, or a related field
• Previous experience with multi-company or multi-currency environments
• Experience using Deltek Vision or other accounting platforms
• Advanced Excel capabilities
