POSITION TITLE: Counter/Cashier
REPORTS TO: General Manager
TASKS AND COMPETENCIES:
➢ Complies with all employee rules, policies, and procedures. Displays a positive approach to all assignments. Completes shift work in a timely and thorough manner.
➢ Ensures proper inventory levels are available and replenishes stock as necessary.
➢ Cleans and sanitizes workstation on a regular basis.
➢ Checks food for proper appearance before it is presented to the customer. Packages the prepared food for carryout.
➢ Communicates clearly to the kitchen staff, receives information and feedback from them on their needs, and takes action based on observation and information received.
➢ Greets customers and takes their orders.
➢ Receives and processes OnLine Ordering (OLO) tickets.
➢ Serves drinks from dispensing machines and prepares them for take-out.
➢ Informs kitchen staff and manager of stock shortages. Relays comments received from customers directly to the Manager. Gets a Manager involved if there is a dissatisfied customer.
➢ Receives a cash bank at the beginning of the work shift and verifies accuracy of amount. Ensures an accurate account of all transactions, collection of money, and disbursements during the work shift.
➢ Enters guests’ food and beverage purchases into Positouch, collects payment from the customers, makes change for cash transactions, and processes credit card transactions.
➢ Counts money and reconciles receipts at the end of the shift.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: Must be able to read, write, speak clearly, listen for detail, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Experience: Has a basic knowledge of safety and sanitation processes. Previous experience in food production. Demonstrated organization and time management skills are beneficial. Must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol.
Physical: Must be able to bend, kneel, and lift/carry items weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, be visually attentive, and clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
