Position Overview

This position is located in our headquarters office in Wilmington, Massachusetts. We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and manage our EHS programs at our distribution centers across the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as implementing best practices to promote a safe and healthy work environment. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can lead, educate, and inspire our team to achieve our EHS goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement EHS Programs : Design, implement, and maintain EHS programs and policies that comply with regulations and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments : Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Stay current with EHS regulations and standards, and ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws.
  • Training and Education : Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees to ensure they understand and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Incident Investigation : Lead investigations of EHS incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Reporting and Documentation : Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and compliance efforts. Maintain OSHA logs for all US facilities. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Continuous Improvement : Continuously evaluate and improve EHS programs and policies to enhance safety and environmental performance.
  • Collect data on all US and Canadian locations for inclusion in Global Sustainability reporting.
  • Participate in annual third party audits to insure data validity in Sustainability reporting.
  • Serve as “Sustainability Ambassador” for US and Canada region.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Human Resources, and Facilities, to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the business.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience : At least 5 years of experience in EHS, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Certifications : Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices. Familiarity with ISO 14001 and 45001 standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Skills : Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Attributes : Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Additional Information :

  • Relocation and / or work sponsorship are not available with this position.
  • This is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office.
