The Learning Support Program teacher plays a key role in supporting students with diverse
learning needs in a private school setting. This position involves working with students one-on-
one and in small groups to provide targeted academic interventions. The specialist will use data-
driven strategies to create individualized learning plans, monitor student progress, and
collaborate with teachers and families to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support & Instruction
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students who require academic
intervention.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with learning differences.
Assist students in developing executive functioning, study skills, and self-advocacy
strategies.
Implement accommodations and modifications based on student needs.
Data-Driven Instruction & Progress Monitoring
Analyze assessment data (e.g., Renaissance/Star scores, IXL, classroom performance) to
identify student learning gaps.
Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on student data.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust instructional strategies as
needed.
Conduct periodic assessments and collaborate with teachers to review student growth.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with classroom teachers to align interventions with the school’s curriculum.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and strategies for support
at home.
Coordinate with administrators and support staff to ensure that students receive
appropriate resources and accommodations.
Participate in meetings related to student progress and learning support services.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
Experience working with students in a one-on-one or small group setting.
Strong ability to analyze student data and create targeted learning plans.
Knowledge of learning differences, intervention strategies, and accommodations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with educational technology and assessment tools (e.g., IXL,
Renaissance/Star Testing).
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $24.79 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
