• Reach your professional and personal goals Court Clerks assist with the recording of case file information in court room proceedings for the Lee County Clerk of Courts. The duties include assisting with the preparation of electronic case files for court, helping capture the judicial decisions or other actions during court, delivering this information to the Clerk's Office for later processing and assisting with other office and court tasks.
Position Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Review case information using appropriate application or case management system
- Assist with the identification of pertinent information for upcoming court session in judicial viewer for judicial review
- Prepare and print minutes or commitment forms in Odyssey or Clerk Edition
- Attend assigned court sessions within micro-team
- Assist with recording judicial decisions and courtroom activity on paper or electronically
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of clerical/administrative experience or any combination education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties
- Microsoft Office and Outlook proficiency level: Elementary
- Minimum one year of legal experience preferred
- Minimum one year of front facing customer service experience required
- Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required
- Proficient in business English and business math
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Ability to assist others within knowledge areas
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Effective interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and professional demeanor are required
- Use tact in sensitive situations, maintain confidentiality of restricted files, and present and maintain a courteous attitude at all times
- Work is performed under moderate supervision
- Demonstrate proficiency with operations and general care of the PC, printers, and other required office equipment
- Ability to remain seated and impassive during court proceedings
- Ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays
- Office: Majority of the time is spent sitting at the computer, remainder of the time is spent assisting in other functions
- Work from Home (if applicable): Majority of the time is spent sitting at the computer
- Requires sitting for extended and continuous periods of time in the court room
- This position requires clear verbal interaction with employees, the public and agencies
- This position may require bending and reaching
- This position may require going to other departments and/or offices on different floors and/or buildings throughout the day
- This position may require occasional travel to other sites to review products, or attend meetings, seminars or classes
- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
