Duties include, but are not limited to:- Organizing & Implementing: Organize, implement, create, and conduct programs and special events such as fun days, spring break camp, and summer camp. This includes hiring, training, scheduling staff, providing feedback, evaluating summer staff, and assessing programs.
- Overseeing Instructors & Volunteers: Oversee contracted instructors and volunteers, including processing applications and invoices for payments related to programmed classes.
- Managing Systems & Invoicing: Input programs/classes into the online recreation tracking system (Rec Trac), and invoice for all classes, room rentals, and special event rentals.
- Opening & Closing Procedures: Responsible for opening and closing procedures, including printing reports, running checks and balances for daily revenues, and securing the recreation center.
- Creating Marketing Materials: Create program brochures, special event flyers, and all marketing materials to advertise classes and programs.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform facility cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and completing various other duties as assigned.
- Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and 6 months of work experience working with large groups of school-age children.
- CPR and First Aid training is required within 6 months of hire, or employment may end.
- License: Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Knowledge of current programming trends in Parks & Recreation, including games and field trips (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with the public in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
- Basic mathematical skills to prepare and maintain reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to solicit donations.
- Proficiency in operating basic office equipment and using computer programs for clerical tasks.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
The work days and hours may vary to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary : $17 - $24
