What You'll Do:- Operate equipment like striping machines and pavement marker applicators.
- Install and maintain road markings (such as lines and symbols) to help drivers stay safe.
- Follow work orders to understand the design and layout of the road markings.
- Apply paint and materials to create clear, safe road markings.
- Remove old markings using pressure washing, sandblasting, or asphalt grinding
- Use Specialized Equipment: Operate machines and tools to apply and maintain road markings.
- Install and Maintain Road Markings: Help ensure clear and accurate markings on roads, including safety symbols and special legends.
- Review Work Orders: Make sure you understand the designs before starting the work.
- Apply Materials and Paint: Follow designs carefully and use the right materials.
- Remove Old Markings: Safely take off old road markings using different methods.
- Operate Vehicles: Drive large trucks and other vehicles safely while doing your job.
- Safety First: Always follow safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in general maintenance, construction, repairs, or a similar field, with experience using hand and power tools.
- This is a Safety-Sensitive position, subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing under DOT regulations (49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382).
Driver’s License:
- Valid Florida Class “B” Commercial Learner’s Permit (required at time of offer).
- Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Florida Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
- Certification in International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Safety in the Work Zone Area, or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Certification in IMSA Level I Signs and Markings, or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in Traffic Markings is highly preferred.
- Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
