- Operate valves to regulate flow of asphalt at a specified rate
- Signals asphalt paving machine operator to start and stop paving machine
- Observes distribution of material over road surfaces to ensure uniform distribution
- Turns handwheels to set angle and depth of screed
- Uses depth gauge, verifies depth specifications of compacted asphalt
- Knowledge of paving equipment and paving process
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Ability to do manual labor
