Job Summary And Qualifications

Position reports directly to the Controller.

• Responsible for general accounting functions including financial reporting, preparing of financial statements, financial analysis, reconciling general ledger accounts, and other responsibilities that may and will be assigned.
• The position is responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset System (FAS) and to ensure all asset policies are being followed as described in HCA’s Accounting Policy Guide (APG 3).
• This position takes the lead in the collection, input, and understanding of all required statistics.
• The position will take the lead in assuring AP Lawson is working efficiently as possible including updating the AP Matrix due to Director turnover.
• The position will assist in the preparation of the Annual Medicare Cost Report, Tax Work-papers, and will take the lead in conducting the annual inventory process.
• Position will assist with month end reports as required, quarterly SOX reporting, and internal control reviews.
• Performs a variety of complex operating accounting work requiring knowledge of the theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining and analyzing data and records of financial transactions.
• Assures the adequacy of accounting systems as basis for reporting to management.
• Recommends improvements, adaptations or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA a plus, but not required
• Requires 2 years accounting experience. Experience in healthcare accounting preferred, but not required
• At least one year of experience with fixed asset accounting and AP is preferred. Financial analysis a plus.
• Ability to communicate orally, maintain effective and amiable relationship with customers and co-workers
