Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining financial records in compliance with GAAP. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, as well as a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Maintain the general ledger accounting system by posting transactions and ensuring all entries are complete.
- Utilize Paychex and ADP systems for payroll-related tasks as needed.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or issues that require resolution.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for audits.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by providing necessary reports and data entry support.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve payment-related inquiries and discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Paychex and ADP, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting practices.
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is a plus.
- Ability to analyze financial information effectively and provide insights for improvement.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or related field is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
