We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.
- Maintain vendor relationships and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing necessary data regarding accounts payable.
- Collaborate with the human resources department to manage payroll-related tasks as needed.
- Utilize accounting software such as UltiPro, ADP, Quicken, and other relevant tools for efficient processing.
- Conduct tax-related activities associated with accounts payable functions.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends or discrepancies that may require attention.
- Support governmental accounting requirements as applicable.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software including UltiPro, ADP, Quicken, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with journal entries and tax compliance is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
