Bookkeeper

We are seeking a meticulous and self-driven Bookkeeper to join our team and manage the financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for someone with a strong grasp of bookkeeping fundamentals, who can independently handle complex files while continuously expanding their knowledge. Key Responsibilities:


  • Write-Ups: Perform detailed financial write-ups, ensuring records are accurate and complete.
  • Sales Tax Management: Calculate, prepare, and file sales tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll operations, including calculations and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Expense Categorization: Distinguish and accurately record office expenses versus supplies for proper financial reporting.
  • Loan Payment Management: Accurately allocate loan payments between principal and interest in financial records.
  • Spreadsheet Management: Create, update, and balance complex spreadsheets to support financial tracking and reporting.
  • Tax Law Familiarity: Apply basic tax law knowledge to maintain compliance and support accurate record-keeping.
  • File Ownership: Take full ownership of assigned files, handling them independently and ensuring quality and accuracy.


Qualifications:


  • Experience: Prior bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of financial concepts and operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in bookkeeping software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel).
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to handle complex and detailed financial files accurately.
  • Tax Knowledge: Basic understanding of tax laws and regulations related to bookkeeping activities.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve discrepancies and manage complicated files effectively.
  • Self-Starter: Capable of working independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Learning Mindset: Eager to learn and grow in a role with exposure to complex bookkeeping scenarios.
